McLaren F1

The McLaren F1 is a sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren AutomotiveOn 31 March 1998, it set the record for the world's fastest production car, reaching 231 mph (372 km/h) with the rev limiter enabled, and 240 mph (390 km/h) with the rev limiter removed. The car features numerous proprietary designs and technologies; it is lighter and has a more streamlined structure than many modern sports cars, despite having one seat more than most similar sports cars, with the driver's seat located in the centre (and slightly forward) of two passengers' seating positions, providing driver visibility superior to that of a conventional seating layout. In 1994, the British car magazine Autocar stated in a road test regarding the F1, "The McLaren F1 is the finest driving machine yet built for the public road." and that "The F1 will be remembered as one of the great events in the history of the car, and it may possibly be the fastest production road car the world will ever see." The past couple of McLaren F1s on whose sales we've reported traded hands for over $5 million apiece and we thought that was pretty spectacular, but this latest example consigned to Gooding & Company for its upcoming sale at Pebble Beach has an expected selling price of between $12 million and $14 million. Chassis No. 031, a 1995 model, is a bit of a rarity in that it's one of only a handful of McLaren F1s painted in white, and the only one in this particular shade of Marlboro White, adopting the color of the grand prix team's title sponsor at the time. It's had only three owners who've put barely over 1,000 miles on the odometer, starting in Japan, where it resided with collector Shin Okamoto for 15 years before he sold it to a collector in Chicago, who in turn sold it to its current owner who's putting it up for auction. The 27th example built, it's said to be in "highly original" condition, was extensively serviced at the McLaren factory as recently as 2008, and comes with all its original manuals, tools and fitted luggage.

Is all of that enough to make this 1995 McLaren F1 worth more than twice what they've been going for? If someone pays it, we suppose it will. But the McLaren isn't even the most expensive lot consigned for the auction. Little surprise, it'll have to compete with a number of much older Ferrari models for that honor: a 250 GT SWB California Spider is estimated to fetch $13-15 million, the estimate for a similar coupe has not even been released, and a rare three-seater 1966 Ferrari 365 P Berlinetta Speciale could go for over $20 million.

BMW i8

http://www.stgautogroup.com/
At first glance, the BMW i8 comes across as a sleekly designed sports car. The BMW i8 is a new kind of high-performance, high-priced coupe from the Bavarian manufacturer of the “ultimate driving machine”. But it’s far more than just another sports car. Aerodynamics play a key role in the design of the BMW i8. It promises not only to be fast and offer exceptional handling, but also to be notably fuel-efficient. The I8 is the second model in the “i” range of BMW plug-in cars. When a car looks this fast, it better live up to its appearance. The BMW i8 does just that, with help from its powerful, yet efficient Turbo 3–cylinder combustion engine situated at the rear axle. Driven by a six–speed automatic transmission, power and performance are truly at your fingertips. At lower speeds and in zero-emission urban areas, the i8 will run for up to 20 miles solely on electric power from a 7.2-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack located in the tunnel between the car's two seats. At higher speeds and for longer distances, the 220-hp engine produces torque of 220 lb-ft to drive the rear wheels. It's a new and fresh design for a sports coupe, and the BMW i8 carries styling to match its originality. BMW will bring a one-off i8 to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, and the car is set to be auctioned by Gooding & Co. on August 16th. The hybrid is just going on sale now in the U.S. and features a carbon-fiber- and aluminum-intensive bodywork hiding some clever gas and electric power plants.

Bugatti

http://www.stgautogroup.com/
Bugatti was founded in 1909 in the then German city of MolsheimAlsace by Italian-born Ettore Bugatti. Bugatti is known for its beauty as well as its race victories. Famous Bugattis include the Type 35 Grand Prix cars, the Type 41 "Royale", the Type 57 "Atlantic" and the Type 55 sports car. The brand has made a name for itself building some of the most exclusive and fastest cars ever made. While having often found itself in dire financial straits throughout its long history, Bugatti has been passed through many owners and is now controlled by the Volkswagen Group. The sole vehicle it produces today is the Veyron 16.4, which vies for the honor of being the most expensive and fastest production car in the world. Bugattis noticeably focused on design. Engine blocks were hand scraped to ensure that the surfaces were so flat that gaskets were not required for sealing, many of the exposed surfaces of the engine compartment featured Guilloché (engine turned) finishes on them, and safety wires had been threaded through almost every fastener in intricately laced patterns. Rather than bolt the springs to the axles as most manufacturers did, Bugatti's axles were forged such that the spring passed though a carefully sized opening in the axle, a much more elegant solution requiring fewer parts. He famously described his arch competitor Bentley's cars as "the world's fastest lorries" for focusing on durability. According to Bugatti, "weight was the enemy".

Best Beach Parks Across the USA

Across the USA there are many beautiful beaches, but what are some of the best? Assateague Island National Seashore is the major national seashore for the mid-Atlantic region famous for its wild ponies. Point Reyes National Seashore in San Francisco Bay area has a wild untamed appearence. The undeveloped beaches and barrier islands of Gulf Islands National Seashore in Florida and Mississippi are known for their temperate water and brilliant sand. The largely undeveloped barrier islands of Cape Lookout National Seashore, N.C., can only be reached by ferry, and visitors must bring their own water and supplies. A 26-mile section of the New York barrier island the called the Fire Island National Seashore, offers a beach getaway not far from the cityThe largest island on the Georgia coast, Cumberland Island National Seashore, Ga., preserves marshes, forests, herds of wild horses -- and wild beaches. There is a 225 yard underwater trail at Virgin that snorklers can follow.  This northern Michigan park was established primarily because of its outstanding natural features, including forests, beaches, dune formations, and ancient glacial phenomena. The
Lakeshore also contains many cultural features including the 1871 South Manitou Island Lighthouse, three former Life-Saving Service/Coast Guard Stations and an extensive rural historic farm district. In 2011 the area won the title of "The Most Beautiful Place in America" from Good Morning America. Then there is Cape Cod with its historic, maritime character and ample beaches attract heavy tourism during the summer months.

2015 SRT Hellcat

http://www.stgautogroup.com/
The Challenger made its fateful return to Dodge’s lineup in 2008 following decades of remaining dormant. For the 2015 model year, the Challenger received a makeover that included a set of taillights that hark back to the 1971 model year. Those fancy taillights are small potatoes when compared to the big news of 2015, the addition of the 700-plus-horsepower Challenger SRT Hellcat. With over 700 horsepower on tap and a price tag barely over $60k, Dodge appears on paper to have a winner on its hands with the new Challenger SRT Hellcat. But if you want to get your hands on one, you may have to act quicker than this most powerful of muscle cars covers the quarter-mile. According to our compatriots over at Edmunds, Dodge may limit production – in the first year, at least – to just 1,200 units. That would amount to barely a quarter of the Challengers that Dodge moves each month, and would also mean only one Hellcat for every two Dodge dealers in the US - which could lead to some serious contention over which stores and which customers can get their hands on the ultimate Challenger. Needless to say, the Challenger Hellcat is the first product of the newly consolidated Dodge and SRT brands, a range-topping model that will sit above the already beefed up 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker that weve seen during the New York auto show last month. Dodge is offering no less than 11 exterior paint colors for the Challenger Hellcat, including the brand-new, high-impact B5 Blue and Sublime Green hues introduced on the regular models. Unfortunately, there’s no twin, full-body stripe option available on the Hellcat, being kept as an exclusive feature for the SRT 392.Even if Dodge plans to sell more Hellcats, they’ll likely only be available at certain dealers. The carmaker hasn’t figured

which dealers will get the honor, but will reportedly make a decision sometime in the next few weeks.

2015 Ford Mustang to pay tribute to F-35 Lightning

http://www.stgautogroup.com/
We already know most of the details surrounding the 2015 Mustang , but what Ford has given us so far is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s at least one high-performance version underway and a bunch of special-edition models are sure to follow. This year the all-new 2015 Mustang has served as a canvas for the project on which Ford has collaborated with performance and tuning companies, and which will be shown at the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture festival. The latest custom Mustang
to arrive in the EAA AirVenture collection before being auctioned off for charity is inspired by the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, a multi-role fighter plane with stealth capability introduced in 2006. Ford's 2015 Mustang pays tribute to the newest addition to the Air Force's fleet with matte titanium paint work on the outside, contrasting with glossy paint on several exterior surfaces, meant to mimic the appearance of the F-35's fuselage. The Mustang has also received a carbon-fiber front splitter and a slightly altered front bumper, while the trunklid features a modest spoiler. The rear fenders, trunklid, and spoiler on this Mustang feature paintwork imitating that of the tail of the F-35 Lightning, complete with F-35 lettering at the end of the rear fenders painted in yellow, while the custom wheels have been given a matte black finish. There’s no word as to what engine lies under the hood, but we expect to see a 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 send its "more than" 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. That’s insignificant compared to the enormous thrust pushing the Lockheed’s Pratt & Whitney F135 turbofan, but it’s good enough for those of us who would rather stick to ground transportation.

V12 Vantage S Roadster

http://www.stgautogroup.com/
Aston Martin has sliced the top off of the V12 Vantage S to give us the 2015 V12 Vantage S Roadster. Billed as the company's fastest and most potent roadster to date, the model follows in the footsteps of the V12 Vantage S Coupe and features a ventilated hood, carbon fiber components and black or titanium silver accents. The roadster also has an aggressive grille that draws inspiration from the CC100 Speedster conceptThe V12 Vantage S Roadster carries over much of the racing-derived technology that makes its roofed sibling so impressive, including CNC-machined combustion chambers and hollow camshafts. Replacing the six-speed manual gearbox in the previous V12 Vantage Roadster is an all-new Sportshift III hydraulically actuated automated manual transmission with paddle shifters. Speaking of performance, the V12 Vantage S Roadster has an adaptive damping system, a two-stage anti-lock braking system and a three-stage dynamic stability control system. There's also carbon ceramic brakes and a Sport mode that "alters throttle response, gearshift speed and timing, and exhaust note to, once again, tune the character of the car to the driver’s requirements."Pricing has yet to be announced, but we expect a starting MSRP around $200,000. The V12 Vantage S Roadster is set to go on sale later this year.

New Virtual Windscreen Concept

http://www.stgautogroup.com/
Imagine if you could have a full video-game-style heads-up display in your car. Every detail from speed, track layout, and other pertinent information could be displayed in real time without you needing to take your eyes off the road. The innovation does not end there as Jaguar wants to display a ghost car thus allowing the drivers to race with themselves to improve their track time. This, coupled with eye tracking technology, will basically blur the lines between racing in video games and real life. Jaguar is also working on a tracking technology  that control the system through gestures and eye movement so you never need to mess with the buttons and switches. Apart from things like the racing lines and driver ghosts, Jaguar presents scenarios where on-track accidents, cautions and flag conditions could all be displayed. Outside of racing applications, this new technology could be used to help provide hazard information, traffic alerts and many other items of important information to drivers on major roadways. Jaguar wants to also replace the rear view mirrors with cameras and secondary displays.People these days are always seeking better inter-connectivity between devices. This is something that hasn’t escaped the attention of car company Jaguar. For some time digital tech has existed in the car market with technologies like navigation devices, Bluetooth, and smartphone enabled applications. It seems then that there’s very little that gamification can’t be applied to. Now driving can have the same visceral thrill as it’s always had just with a new (and marked) difference. Augmented and virtual reality is becoming increasingly saturated but really it’s still early days for this sort of technology.

that will control the system through gestures and eye movements so you never need to mess with button and switches.

SELFIES

http://www.stgautogroup.com/
selfie is a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone. Selfies are often shared on social networking services such as InstagramSnapchat, and Tumblr. In this day and age selfies are the thing almost everyone is taking them. Some of our favorite celebrities take them all the time. Is it possible that selfies, the trend of taking pictures of oneself, could cause narcissism, addiction, mental illness and even suicide? That’s what seems to be suggested by expert opinion surrounding the phenomenon, and a man diagnosed with body dysmorphic disorder says he grew suicidal due to his addiction to taking selfies. Danny Bowman says he became so obsessed with trying to take the “right” selfie that he ended up shooting about 200 pictures a day while trying desperately to capture the perfect image of himself. Do you feel like this is true or maybe it all depends on the person. People take selfies everywhere i.e.: the gym, while driving, shopping, eating, in the bathroom, at work just about everywhere. Do you take selfies? Do you take just one or do you take them until you get the perfect one? How many selfies have you taken in a day? We want to see your selfies feel free to tag #STG and share with us your work selfies.

2015 Mercedes CLS

Once Mercedes-Benz decided to reinvent itself as a more youthful and design-oriented brand, the first CLS-class came across as a stroke of genius. Essentially a rebodied
http://www.stgautogroup.com/
E-class, the
2005 CLS surprised the industry with its flowing, sensual lines. For the 2015 model year, the handsome sedan that introduced the nonsensical “four-door” coupe terminology gets a mid-term facelift with subtle changes. Mercedes-Benz has added the "diamond grille" of A-class,S-class coupe, and CLA-class fame. The new car’s front bumpers have been restyled, and the rear looks more aggressive than previous iterations. The overall shape of the 2015 model’s headlamps remains unchanged, but there are now standard LEDs instead of bi-xenons. For some markets, Mercedes will offer ultra-advanced matrix LED headlights with 24 LEDs in each unit. They are controlled individually and can be dimmed in a full 255 stages.  On the AMG front, Mercedes-Benz will confirm only that the CLS63 AMG will continue to exist. We expect it will retain its twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8, but only in 577 hp and 590 lb-ft trim.
Prices are expected to remain close to those of the 2014 model; the CLS400 will, of course, come in significantly below the CLS550, which now starts at $72,100. If you are in the market for a Mercedes come down or visit our website to check our selection out!!!

Independence Day

Independence Day is annually celebrated on July 4 and is often known as "the Fourth of July". It is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776. During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain occurred on July 2, 1776, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence that had been proposed in June by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia declaring the United States independent from Great Britain. After voting for independence, Congress turned its attention to the Declaration of Independence, a statement explaining this decision, which had been prepared by a Committee of Five, with Thomas Jefferson as its principal author. Congress debated and revised the wording of the Declaration, finally approving it on July 4. The first description of how Independence Day would be celebrated was in a letter from John Adams to his wife Abigail on July 3, 1776. He described "pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations" throughout the United States. However, the term "Independence Day" was not used until 1791. The first public reading of the Declaration of Independence was on July 8, 1776. Delegates began to sign the Declaration of Independence on August 2, 1776. In 1870, Independence Day was made an unpaid holiday for federal employees. In 1941, it became a paid holiday for them.
Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworksparadesbarbecuescarnivals, fairspicnicsconcertsbaseball gamesfamily reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. 2015 Kia K900

http://www.stgautogroup.com/
Not so many years ago, the idea of a luxury sedan from Korean brand Kia would have been utterly baffling. But the new 2015 Kia K900 large luxury sedan follows a well-known path that has elevated car makers before, including Kia's corporate sibling Hyundai. A few years ago, the idea of a luxury sedan from a Kia was, well, let’s say far fetched. Things have changed, and Kia’s now known for stylish, reliable vehicles that you want to be seen in. The up-and-coming brand is a larger, more luxurious model than anything it's previously offered, but to price it aggressively--below traditional competitors--to lure buyers who wouldn't otherwise set foot in the dealerships. The K900 now on sale at selected Kia dealers is a good first effort that the brand's executives called “a stake in the ground” during the first media drive, indicating that they're in the segment for the long haul. It’s the first truly high-end effort from Kia falls somewhere between a premium model and a genuine luxury sedan to compete with the Germans. Sister ship to Hyundai’s Equus, the K900 is a rear-drive, 420-hp V-8–powered luxury barge that indicates its maker’s ambitions. Expanding on established Kia styling themes, it’s a muscular four-door stuffed with leather, wood trim, and electronic amusements. The steering is numb and the suspension is soft. Kia wants buyers to think the K900 is a value compared with its more-expensive competitors in full-size luxury, but we’d rather spend less for a car that is more about driving than gadgets. There is more. Much more. But while the K900 carries all the current automotive gadgetry, so does every other luxury car available on the market. Many of them are well-established players in the luxury market; some of them cost less than this, Kia’s first attempt at the game.
