Rolls Royce

The 2 Series

On October 25, 2013 the BMW 2 Series Coupe was said to replace the 1 Series Coupe. It’s based on the latest 1 Series hatchback but slightly stretched to create a sportier coupe body style. With a longer and lower body, wider track and stretched wheelbase give it sportier coupe proportions, while neatly executed detailing adds to the coupes desirability. The interior is stylish and well built layout is familiar from the 1 Series, but the frame less windows and long doors are as you’d expect for a coupe. The exterior including ddistinctive vents in the lower bumper channel air over the wheels and around the side of the car with LED tail-lights and a chrome kidney grille. The standard kit list include the trademark iDrive infotainment controller, a 6.5-inch display screen, aluminium trim, DAB radio and a multifunction wheel. If you want leather seat upholstery it will cost more. The Coupe is fast and has precise steering and body control is excellent. With great traction the six-speed manual gearbox shifts with typical BMW precision. The BMW 2 Series shares similar parts as the BMW 1 Series. BMW has the reputation of being for reliability and scored well in our Driver Power 2013 satisfaction survey. The 228i braked a foot shorter from 60-0 mph at 106 feet, and completed our figure eight in 25.8 seconds at an average 0.73 g -- a tenth quicker than the 328i. So if you are in the market for a  BMW come on down and check out our selection or visit our website http://www.stgautogroup.com/ and schedule a test drive today!!!

The Drive Less Car

Have you heard of a drive less car?  What was once a secret project has now been revealed to the public. Google has been developing new technology for autonomous cars. Google's robotic cars start as standard vehicles but each packs about $150,000 in equipment, including a $70,000 radar like Lidar system, with a laser on the roof and enough cameras and high-tech gadgets insideGoogle's fleet of robotic Toyota Priuses has now logged more than 190,000 miles (about 300,000 kilometers), driving in city traffic, busy highways, and mountainous roads with only occasional human intervention. Two things seem particularly interesting about Google's approach. First, it relies on very detailed maps of the roads and terrain, something that Urmson said is essential to determine accurately where the car is. The project team has equipped a test group of at least ten cars, consisting of six Toyota Prius, an Audi TT, and three Lexus RX450h ,each accompanied in the driver's seat by one of a dozen drivers with perfect driving records and in the passenger seat by one of Google's engineers. Driver less cars could prevent "up to 30,000 fatalities a year, or 80 per day," said Larry Burns, a professor of engineering at the University of Michigan and a Google consultant. Human drivers would be expected to take control if the computer fails. The promise is that, eventually, there would be no need for a human fallback. The project began in 2009 and is still far from working successfully, but hopefully will be available to the public within the next six years. How do you feel about driving a drive less car?

Convertibles

http://www.stgautogroup.com/

Cruising with the top down is an American summer tradition. When you think of cruising with the top down you think convertible. What is that makes a convertible? A convertible is a type of automobile of various automobile body styles that can convert from open-air (top-down or topless) mode to a provisional enclosed (roofed or top-up) mode. Roof designs vary in a wide range of models and have evolved from demountable and/or detachable.Until the 1910 introduction by Cadillac of the United States' first closed-body car, the open or convertible car was the primary body style. The first practical retractable hardtop system was conceived by an American, Ben P. Ellerbeck, in 1922. Peugeot constructed the first power-operated retractable hardtop called ‘402 Éclipse Décapotable’.U.S. automakers manufactured a broad range of models during the 1950s and 1960s – from economical compact-sized models such as the Rambler American and the Studebaker Lark, to the more expensive models such as the Packard Caribbean, Oldsmobile 98, and Imperial by Chrysler.  Convertible production continued throughout this era with models such as the Mercedes SL, the VW Beetle Cabriolet, the VW Golf Cabriolet, and the Jaguar E type. The beginning of 1995 saw the era of modern retractable hardtops. In 2006 Peugeot presented a concept for a four-door retractable hardtop convertible, the Peugeot 407 Macarena. Today there are convertible models made by almost all car manufactuers. Trucks

A truck is a motor vehicle designed to transport cargo. Trucks come in all different sizes and vary in power. There are all types of specialty trucks equipped with specialty equipment such as fire trucks and
cement mixers. The word "truck" might have come from a back-formation of "truckle" with the meaning "small wheel", "pulley."First introduced in 1925 as the “Ford Model T Runabout with Pickup Body,” the pickup truck has become a staple in American life. Based on the Model T coupe, it featured a cargo box and adjustable tailgate, and was designed to haul small loads. After World War 2 in 1948, Ford began producing its F Series pickup trucks, which were its first models not based on existing cars.  The F series is one of the longest running vehicle lines still popular today. Chevy's Advance Design series was released in 1947 and Dodge's Power Wagon, based directly on a military truck design, was made for civilian use as early as 1945. Around the middle of the 20th century, pickup trucks continued to evolve alongside American cars. Luxury trim levels became available on trucks that were designed more for daily driving than off-road or other special uses. These days all major American automakers produce at least one pickup truck model. Some of the most popular trucks today are: Ford 150, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Ram 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, Toyota Tundra, Honda Ridgeline, Ford Super Duty , Toyota Tacoma, Nissan frontier and the Nissan Titan. Luxury Cars

What defines a "luxury" car? What makes one vehicle "luxury" and another one not? Websters Dictionary definition of Luxury is: A condition or situation of great comfort, ease, and wealth. So what is the difference between luxury and a stand
http://www.stgautogroup.com/
ard car? "The difference is not just price," says Brian Smith, vice president in charge of marketing for Toyota's Lexus brand. He says luxury has to do with the overall experience — the car, the dealer, the reputation of the brand, the satisfaction of owning a certain brand.

Luxury cars use new technology. They contain high-end features not yet designed for mass-market cars, and they are produced in limited numbers . There are six different classes of luxury cars consisting of: Premium compact segment, Entry-level luxury/compact executive cars, Mid-luxury/executive cars, High-end luxury/full-size luxury cars, Ultra-luxury cars, and Luxury SUV/Crossover. Luxury cars tend to offer a higher degree of comfort and most come equipped with genuine leather upholstery and polished "woodgrain-look" dashboards. The Automobile

http://www.stgautogroup.com/
The history of the automobile begins as early as 1769, with the creation of steam engined automobiles capable of human transport. François Isaac de Rivaz designed the first car powered by an internal combustion engine running on fuel gas in 1807. Although the blueprint for the modern automobile was perfected in Germany and France in the late 1800s, Americans dominated the industry in the first half of the twentieth century. Mass-production techniques that became standard was initiated by Henry Ford. General Motors ,Chrysler, and Ford emerged as the three leading auto companies in the 1920's The industry had become global with Japan rising to be the leading auto maker by 1980. In 1980, 87.2 percent of American households owned one or more motor vehicles, 51.5 percent owned more than one, and fully 95 percent of domestic car sales were for replacement. Americans have become truly auto-dependent. In 1983 Chrysler mini vans nearly pushed station wagons out of the market. The Toyota Prius launched in the Japanese market in 1997 has now become the best known hybrid electric vehicle. Today there are over fifty automobile manufactuers some including: Volkswagen, BMW, Chevrolet, Toyota , Chrysler, and Mercedes. Today there are automobiles to fit every drivers needs and desires.
