Trucks

A truck is a motor vehicle designed to transport cargo. Trucks come in all different sizes and vary in power. There are all types of specialty trucks equipped with specialty equipment such as fire trucks and
cement mixers. The word "truck" might have come from a back-formation of "truckle" with the meaning "small wheel", "pulley."First introduced in 1925 as the “Ford Model T Runabout with Pickup Body,” the pickup truck has become a staple in American life. Based on the Model T coupe, it featured a cargo box and adjustable tailgate, and was designed to haul small loads. After World War 2 in 1948, Ford began producing its F Series pickup trucks, which were its first models not based on existing cars.  The F series is one of the longest running vehicle lines still popular today. Chevy's Advance Design series was released in 1947 and Dodge's Power Wagon, based directly on a military truck design, was made for civilian use as early as 1945. Around the middle of the 20th century, pickup trucks continued to evolve alongside American cars. Luxury trim levels became available on trucks that were designed more for daily driving than off-road or other special uses. These days all major American automakers produce at least one pickup truck model. Some of the most popular trucks today are: Ford 150, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Ram 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, Toyota Tundra, Honda Ridgeline, Ford Super Duty , Toyota Tacoma, Nissan frontier and the Nissan Titan.
