New Virtual Windscreen Concept

Imagine if you could have a full video-game-style heads-up display in your car. Every detail from speed, track layout, and other pertinent information could be displayed in real time without you needing to take your eyes off the road. The innovation does not end there as Jaguar wants to display a ghost car thus allowing the drivers to race with themselves to improve their track time. This, coupled with eye tracking technology, will basically blur the lines between racing in video games and real life. Jaguar is also working on a tracking technology  that control the system through gestures and eye movement so you never need to mess with the buttons and switches. Apart from things like the racing lines and driver ghosts, Jaguar presents scenarios where on-track accidents, cautions and flag conditions could all be displayed. Outside of racing applications, this new technology could be used to help provide hazard information, traffic alerts and many other items of important information to drivers on major roadways. Jaguar wants to also replace the rear view mirrors with cameras and secondary displays.People these days are always seeking better inter-connectivity between devices. This is something that hasn’t escaped the attention of car company Jaguar. For some time digital tech has existed in the car market with technologies like navigation devices, Bluetooth, and smartphone enabled applications. It seems then that there’s very little that gamification can’t be applied to. Now driving can have the same visceral thrill as it’s always had just with a new (and marked) difference. Augmented and virtual reality is becoming increasingly saturated but really it’s still early days for this sort of technology.

that will control the system through gestures and eye movements so you never need to mess with button and switches.
